Dubai has an active used car market with plenty of well-kept vehicles — and some that have had a harder life than their appearance suggests. An independent inspection is the most reliable way to tell them apart.
Look at the service history first
Consistent, documented servicing is a strong signal. Long gaps, or a history that starts recently, deserve questions.
Check for heat-related wear
Perished rubber, cracked hoses, tired suspension bushings and faded interior plastics are common on vehicles that have spent years in the sun. None are deal-breakers on their own, but together they suggest upcoming costs.
Scan the vehicle electronically
A scan reveals stored and pending fault codes, including ones a seller may have cleared shortly before viewing. Recently reset modules are themselves informative.
Inspect underneath
Leaks, previous repair work and accident damage are far easier to assess with the car raised. This is the part of the process that a test drive cannot replace.
