A car air conditioning system in the UAE runs at or near maximum load for most of the year. That workload exposes weaknesses far faster than in a temperate climate, which is why AC concerns are one of the most common reasons drivers visit a workshop here.
Cooling that fades during the day
Air that feels cold early in the morning but weak by midday often points to a system that is low on refrigerant or a condenser that cannot shed heat efficiently. A condenser packed with dust and sand — very common in Dubai — reduces heat transfer exactly when ambient temperature is highest.
Refrigerant does not get consumed in normal use. If the level is low, there is a leak somewhere, and simply topping the system up will produce the same complaint again in a few weeks.
Poor airflow from the vents
If the air is cold but barely reaches you, the issue is usually airflow rather than cooling. A blocked cabin filter, a failing blower motor or a blend door that is not moving correctly will all produce that symptom.
Noises when the AC is switched on
A click followed by a change in engine note is normal — that is the compressor clutch engaging. Rattling, grinding or squealing that appears only with the AC on is not, and it is worth inspecting early because compressor failures can send debris through the rest of the system.
Electrical and control faults
Not every AC complaint is mechanical. Pressure switches, relays, sensors and control modules can all prevent a healthy system from operating. This is where diagnostics matter: the fault code narrows the search, and physical testing confirms it.
What to do next
If your cooling has changed noticeably, have the system inspected rather than guessing at a part. Contact Al Suwaidi International Garage in Umm Ramool by phone or WhatsApp and describe what you are experiencing.
