Batteries in hot climates often fail sooner than their rated life. Most give some warning before they leave you stranded.
Slow cranking
If the starter turns the engine more slowly than usual, particularly first thing in the morning, capacity is dropping.
Electrical oddities
Dimming lights at idle, radio presets resetting or dashboard warnings appearing at start-up can all trace back to marginal battery voltage.
Corrosion and physical condition
White or blue deposits on the terminals increase resistance. A swollen case indicates heat damage and the battery should be replaced.
Test rather than guess
A load test measures actual capacity in a few minutes, and also confirms whether the charging system is doing its job.
